Supercheap Auto asked their fans to come up with a 30 second TV ad that both reflected their perception of the store and their love of motoring. Supercheap received over 350 entries which was whittled down to just 10 hilarious TVCs with the winner being broadcasted on Channel 10 during the Bathurst 1000.

The winning spot was created by Southern Cross Austereo producer, David Smyth, and showed a soon to be father stopping in at Supercheap while is pregnant wife waits outside the store – hilarity ensues. We don’t think words can put it to justice so take a look at the clip.

David Smyth received 19,000 votes to crown him the winner and he took away $40,000 in cash and $160,000 in air time during the race broadcast. He said, when it comes to man and his car, “even the biggest moments in life get put to the side”.
